
Men's Soccer Hosts Lipscomb in First Exhibition Game

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville men's soccer team will open up the exhibition season against the Lipscomb Bison on Saturday afternoon in Cardinal Park at 5:00 p.m. The Cards are coming off the best season in program history last year, winning the 2009 BIG EAST Red Division title.
The Cardinals finished the year with a school record 13-3-4 overall record and an 8-2-1 BIG EAST record. Louisville made its third consecutive and overall appearance in the NCAA Championship. Louisville returns several players with significant starting experience along with one of the best recruiting classes in program history. Colin Rolfe, the preseason BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, returns after leading the Cardinals in goals and points last season with 10 goals and 22 points.
The Bison ended last season with a 6-10-3 overall record and a 3-4-2 Atlantic Sun record. Lipscomb returns 11 players with starting experience, while welcoming 17 newcomers. The Bison return their leading goal scorer and points leader in Miguel DaSilva, who finished the season with five goals and 14 points.
Louisville leads the overall series with Lipscomb 2-0. Last season, the two teams also met in exhibition play where the Cardinals defeated the Bison 2-1 in Nashville.
