
Men's Soccer Adds Seven Players For 2010

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville head coach Ken Lolla announced that seven players will join the University of Louisville men's soccer team next season.
"We are very excited about this group of incoming players as they are an extremely talented and experienced group," said Lolla. "The class is strong in ability and character and will continue to raise the level of Cardinal soccer for the future."
Below is a list of commitments:
Andrew Farrell, MF/D Louisville, Ky. (Atherton HS) Andrew Farrell is midfielder/defender from Atherton High School in Louisville. He came to Atherton after playing his freshman season at Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School in Lima, Peru. He was earned all-district and all-state honors his senior year. Farrell was named the team MVP his junior and senior years. He was voted Best Newcomer his sophomore season, helping guide Atherton to a 12-5-1 record. Farrell finished his senior season with 12 goals and seven assists.
Aaron Horton, F, Lewis Center, Ohio (Olentangy Orange HS) Aaron Horton is a forward from Olentangy Orange High School in Lewis Center, Ohio. He was a member of the US Soccer Residency Program and played for the U17 National Team in 2007. He finished his prep career at Olentangy Orange High School where he broke the school record for goals in a season with 30 his senior year. He earned first team all-state honors and also earned all-district and all-conference honors. Horton played club soccer on the Team Ohio FC for six years. He played for the Chicago Magic AS Monaco Developmental Academy team in 2008. He is currently playing at the Columbus Crew Developmental Academy.
Daniel Keller, D, Carmel, Ind. (Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School) Daniel Keller is a defender from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Carmel, Ind. Keller earned all-state honors his junior and senior seasons. He was named Defensive Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons. He plays on the Indiana ODP club team and helped guide them to the 2009 ODP National Championship. He helped guide his club team to four straight Indiana State Cup Championships.
Alexander Obbey, MF/F, Amherst, Ohio (Marion L. Steele HS) Alexander Obbey is a midfielder/forward from Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst, Ohio. In his senior year, Obbey helped lead his high school to their best record in school history with an overall record of 11-3-3. He set a school record in assists with 17 in his final year. Obbey earned first team All-Ohio and All-Greater Cleveland honors his senior year. He earned MVP honors of the Greater Cleveland All-Star Game, Southwest Conference, Loraine County and Team MVP. Obbey is currently playing club soccer for the U18 Columbus Crew Developmental Academy team. He trained his junior year at the Brad Freidel's Premier Soccer Academy.
Manolo Sanchez, MF, Philadelphia, Pa. (Germantown Friends HS) Manolo Sanchez is a midfielder from Germantown Friends High School in Philadelphia, Pa. Sanchez finished his high school career as the all-time leader in goals scored with 59 and assists with 38. Sanchez earned league MVP honors his junior and senior seasons. He also earned All-Southeastern Pennsylvania and all-state his junior and senior seasons. He played club soccer for the YMS Xplosion, which qualified for the National Championship Series in 2008 and 2009. They were state champions in 2005 and 2009 and Region 1 champions in 2009.
Alexander Stopa, GK, Reston, Va. (Herndon HS) Alexander Stopa is a goalkeeper from Herndon High School in Reston, Va. Stopa earned all-region honors his junior season and earned all-district honors his sophomore and junior seasons. He was named team captain for his senior year which begins this spring. As a sophomore he helped lead his team to the Concorde District Championship. He plays club soccer for the Virginia State ODP team.
Will Vitalis, F/MF, Crestwood, Ky. (South Oldham HS) Will Vitalis is a forward/midfielder from South Oldham High School in Crestwood, Ky. Vitalis was named the Kentucky Mr. Soccer his senior year. Vitalis was a first team all-state selection and third team ESPN Rise Fall Boys' Soccer All-America. He was named the Eighth Region Offensive Player of the Year and team MVP after leading his team with 40 goals and 12 assists. He was the 2009 Eurosport Kentucky Player of the Year. He played on the Javanon 92' team which was the National Semi-Finalist in 2008 and 09.
