Coach Leonid Yelin has been invited by the USA Women's National Volleyball Team (WNT) and its staff - Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon, Assistant Coach Karch Kiraly and Assistant coach/Technical Coordinator Jamie Morrison -- asked a select group of coaches of top-ranked programs and automatic NCAA qualifiers to join them for a day and a half at our home gym, the American Sports Center in Anaheim, CA for the WNT Coaching Outreach Program (COP).
"I was very pleased and honored to be invited. This is a great opportunity to exchange ideas with some of the best coaches in the business," said U of L head coach Leonid Yelin, whose team made its 20th NCAA appearance after winning the BIG EAST Championship this past season.
The session's objective and intention is to develop professionally as a group while building bridges and improving lines of communication between the National Team Staff and the college coaching corps; and catalyze discussion about best practices in teaching and learning
The COP will consist of tutoring and practicing with the national team, special working luncheons and individual work with the athletes for the week beginning Feb. 8.
