The University of Louisville volleyball team is receiving votes in both the AVCA and Volleyball Magazine's Pre-season Polls.
The Cardinals, who are the BIG EAST'S reigning tournament champions, are receiving votes in both polls despite losing four starters from last year's squad.
U of L, under the direction of Leonid Yelin, will vy for its 20th appearance in the NCAAs this year with pre-conference matches against No. 10 Illinois, No. 18 Wichita State, No. 19 Purdue and No. 21 Kentucky. Opponents Arizona and Tennessee also received votes in the AVCA poll.
The Cardinals were selected to win the BIG EAST by the conference coaches in their pre-season poll. Seniors Justine Landi and Lecia Brown were pre-season All-BIG EAST selections.
U of L is set to open the season against Arizona Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. in Cardinal Arena.
