
Lolla Adds Eight to the 2009 Roster

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville head coach Ken Lolla announced that the staff has added eight players to national letters of intent. Lolla and his staff have added two transfers that are currently on campus and six freshmen that will join the Cardinals in the fall.
"We are very excited about this incoming class as the group possesses talent and experience," said head coach Ken Lolla. "This group is expected to have an immediate impact on our program. They have all experienced success on the soccer field as well as off which is indicative of their character."
Junior midfielder Josh Lipka is a transfer from Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio. Lipka was named 2006 Mr. Soccer and Gatorade Player of the Year (Ky.) as a senior at Lexington Catholic. He also was a two-time all-state selection.
Nick Corliss is a defender from Auckland, New Zealand. He enrolled at the University of Louisville this spring. He was a member of the U17 New Zealand national team which won the Oceania series. He also played in the 2007 World Cup for New Zealand.
Pablo DelPiccolo is a midfielder from Wheat Ridge High School in Denver, Colo. DelPiccolo was named first team all-conference in 2005 and honorable mention all-state in 2006. DelPiccolo played two seasons of soccer at Wheat Ridge High School.
Joey Haught is a midfielder from Brecksville Broadview Heights High in Brecksville, Ohio. Haught played at St. Edward for three seasons. Haught led St. Edward in scoring during his three seasons with 39 goals and 33 assists in 64 career games. Haught led St. Edward to its first ever number top ranking in the state and national ranking of No. 10. He played Brad Friedel's Premier Soccer Academy and the Columbus Crew U-18 juniors.
Knight is a forward from Woking, England and has been a stellar player for Santa Barbara Community College. He was named 2008 Western State Conference Player of the Year and a two-time Western State Conference first team selection. Knight was the leading scorer in the Western State Conference in 2007 with 28 goals. He also won the 2007 SBART Athlete of the Year Award and is a two-time winner of the Vaquero Award. Knight was named to the 2008 All-American team by the NSCAA.
Ryan Smith is a midfielder from St. Xavier High School in Louisville. Smith earned all-state and all-region honors his senior year. He was also named to the state all-tournament team. Smith attended the Super-Y League National camp where he was named to the 2007 Super Y League North American Finals All-Star Team. He played for the Kentucky ODP State Team in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Smith helped St. Xavier to back-to-back state championships. He finished his senior year with 18 goals and 11 assists.
Zach Torp is a goalkeeper from Louisville's DuPont Manual High School. Torp was named first team all-state and all-region his senior year. During his senior year he was Manual's team captain, team MVP and team defensive player of the year. Torp was named the 2007 State Championship MVP. He was the United 1996 FC Team Captain and participated in the Super-Y League National Camp All-Star Game. He also played for the Kentucky ODP State Team from 2005-2008. He finished his senior year with a .85 goals against average and 12 shutouts.
Buck Tufty is a forward from Sunset High School in Portland, Oregon. Tufty was an All-Metro Conference selection and Academic all-state/conference his junior and senior years. He totaled a combined 26 goals and 13 assists his junior and senior seasons.
