PROVIDENCE R.I. - Louisville junior first baseman Andrew Clark was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Cardinal baseball team to a 4-0 record last week.
A native of New Palestine, Ind., Clark hit .375 with a double, a triple, two home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored in the four games. He hit safely in all four games and had at least one extra-base hit in three of the four.
He went 2-for-5 with two home runs, including his second career grand slam, to help Louisville to a 15-6 win against Bowling Green on Feb. 27 to begin a three-game series sweep of the Falcons.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher and Louisville native Dean Kiekhefer was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after throwing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts to earn his first win of the season in the Cards' 9-2 victory over Bowling Green on Sunday.
Up next, the Cards will return to the road to face Eastern Kentucky in Richmond on Tuesday before returning home to Jim Patterson Stadium for Western Michigan on Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET.
