Louisville, Ky. - Junior forward Mark Knight was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Knight led the Cardinals' offensive charge in the 6-0 win at DePaul on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Knight notched two goals and one assist for five points to help Louisville score its highest number of goals in a game since Oct. 16, 1999 with a 6-1 win over Belmont. Knight crossed the ball to his offensive counterpart Colin Rolfe for the game-winner in the fourth minute of play. He then went on to score his first goal from three feet in front of the goal in the 13th minute and found the net again in the 16th minute with a scramble in front of the DePaul net.
This is Knight's first career BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honor and the first for Louisville since Sept. 29 of last season when current junior Austin Berry won.
Knight was also named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week.
