
Andre Boudreaux Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Freshman goalkeeper Andre Boudreaux was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week announced the conference office on Monday. Boudreaux earned two separate all-tournament team honors after helping the Cardinals to a 3-0 record last week.
The rookie goalie has been starting in goal in place of veteran keeper David Simolike, who is injured. To start the week, on Sept. 1, Boudreaux made two saves in a 1-0 win over James Madison in the Courtyard by Marriott East Classic presented by Mockingbird Soccer. Boudreaux earned all-tournament accolades after recording his first shutout of the season.
This weekend in the TLC Plumbing & Utility Invitational, the Cards defeated UC-Davis 1-0 in overtime on Friday evening. On Sunday, the Cardinals defeated host No. 21 New Mexico 2-1 in double overtime. Bourdreaux was named to the New Mexico Invitational All-Tournament Team after making three saves on the weekend.
Boudreaux finished the week with a .32 goals against average and two shutouts. He also collected five saves for the week.
