
Men's Soccer Starts BIG EAST Play on the Road

Louisville, Ky. - The 16th ranked Louisville men's soccer will travel to No. 7 Connecticut on Friday night to open the BIG EAST season. The Cardinals earned their highest ranking in school history this week at No. 16 in the Soccer America and Soccer Times Polls. Louisville is also ranked No. 17 in College Soccer News and No. 19 in the adidas/NSCAA Coaches Poll.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 5-0-1. The Cardinals are off to their best start in school history. Senior defender Ryan McDonald leads the Cards in scoring with three goals and one assist for seven points. Freshman forward Colin Rolfe is second on the team in scoring with three goals for six points. The Cardinals are led in goal by freshman keeper Andre Boudreaux. Boudreaux has a 0.78 goals against average on the season with two shutouts.
Connecticut enters the game with an overall record of 2-0-3 and a home record of 2-0-2. The Huskies are led in scoring by O'Brian White and Akeem Priestley with two goals and one assist for five points. They are led in goal by Josh Ford who owns a 0.18 goals against average with four shutouts.
The Cardinals will continue on the road on Sunday, Sept. 21 at No. 17 Providence.
