
Women's Golf Falls to 10th After Second Round

Athens, Ga. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a season-high 315 in the second round of the NCAA East Regional Championship Friday afternoon at the University of Georgia Golf Course. The Cardinals stand in 10th place, falling five spots after the first round. Florida holds a three stroke lead over defending champion Duke with a score of 585. Duke is second with a score of 588 and South Carolina is third with a score of 594.
Freshman Sara-Maude Juneau finished the day two over par. The freshman is currently tied for second with a score of 141. Juneau was plus one as she made the turn and finished the back nine at one over as well. She finished the day with three birdie and five bogeys.
Junior Cindy LaCrosse shot a 79 on the second day and is currently tied at 25th with a score of 151. LaCrosse made the turn at three over but finished the back nine at four over. She finished the day with one birdie and eight bogeys.
Freshman Laura Anderson shot a 79 in the second round and is tied at 56th with a score of 155. She made the turn at four over par and was three over on the back nine. Anderson also finished with one birdie and eight bogeys.
Junior Amanda Henry shot an 83 in the second round and is 91st with a score 161. Henry made the turn at one over par but then finished the back nine at 10 over. Senior Jenny Calkins shot an 84 in the second round and is tied at 92nd with a score of 162. Calkins struggled on the front nine, making the turn at plus nine. She recovered some on the back nine finishing at three over.
The Cardinals will begin teeing off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Louisville will start on the back nine on Saturday. Live results can be found at www.golfstat.com.
The top eight teams in the field and the top three individual finishers who are not members of those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships on May 20-23 at the University of New Mexico's Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
