
Brian Maisonneuve Named Men's Soccer Assistant Coach

Louisville, Ky. - Brian Maisonneuve has been named to the University of Louisville's men's soccer staff by Cardinal head coach Ken Lolla. Maisonneuve replaces former assistant BJ Craig, who left for a similar position at Notre Dame.
"We are very excited about the addition of Brian Maisonneuve to our staff and program," said head coach Ken Lolla. "He is a person of great character as well as tremendous soccer experience. He has played at the highest levels in the US and has coached the country's best youth players. Brian will certainly help us reach a new level of success."
Maisonneuve has been an assistant coach with the United States U-17 National Team since 2005. He was also an assistant for the United States U-20 National Team. He helped guide the U-20 team to the 2007 FIFA World Cup in Canada and participated in the 2007 CONCACAF qualification process.
Maisonneuve played for the US National Team from 1997-2002. He played in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France and participated in the 1996 Olympic Games. He played in the MLS from 1996-2004 for the Columbus Crew.
A 1994 graduate of Indiana University, Maisonneuve lettered four seasons for the Hoosiers. He was the 1994 Herman Trophy winner his senior year. Maisonneuve was also named the Big Ten Player of the Year as a junior and senior and earned All-America honors as well. He was named All-Big Ten all four seasons with the Hoosiers.
