
Weekend Tournament Awaits No. 22 Cardinals

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Following a season-opening series win over visiting Cleveland State, the 22nd-ranked University of Louisville baseball team is set to open the road slate at the Charleston Firefighter Memorial Challenge at Riley Park in Charleston, South Carolina.
Louisville (2-1) will face North Carolina State on Friday at 12:00 p.m. to open the four-team tournament. The Wolfpack (2-1) have been to the NCAA regionals for the last five seasons.
On Saturday the Cardinals will play host The Citadel (1-2) in the featured game of the tournament at 2:30 p.m. A ceremony will precede the game featuring a tribute to nine Charleston firefighters who perished on June 18, 2007, while battling a blaze.
Cardinal Head Coach Dan McDonnell and Assistant Coach Chris Lemonis both played and coached at The Citadel for a combined 28 seasons.
The final opponent for the Cardinals will be North Carolina A & T on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The Aggies are off to a 3-1 start to open the season. All three games will be the first ever meetings against those opponents for the Cardinals.

The Cards will visit seventh-ranked Vanderbilt on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. ET before returning to the Ville on Wednesday for a game against Eastern Kentucky, first pitch at Jim Patterson Stadium is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and admission is free.
