
Louisville Sweeps Coach of the Year Honors in Golf

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville swept the BIG EAST Coach of the Year awards in golf this season. Women's head coach Kelly Meyers Rothberg and men's head coach Mark Crabtree were both named coach of the year by the BIG EAST coaches this season.
Rothberg guided the Cardinals to their second consecutive BIG EAST title back in May. After starting the program just seven years ago, Rothberg's Cardinals made their first appearance in the NCAA Championships. The Cardinals finished in the Top 10, earning them their first ever Top 25 ranking (No. 21 by Golfstat). The Cardinals made their second NCAA Regional appearance with sophomore Cindy LaCrosse and senior Adrienne White earning NGCA All-Region honors after finishing in the Top 10. The Cardinals also posted three wins this season, setting a new school record. This is the second time Rothberg has earned this honor.
Crabtree guided the Cardinals to their first BIG EAST title back in May. Louisville was ranked in the Top 25 all season for the first time in school history. His Cardinals finished their best season ever with their first NCAA championship appearance and a third-straight visit to the NCAA Regionals. The Cardinals ended the year with a school-record six tournament wins. Crabtree also coached Louisville's first All-American in Derek Fathauer. Fauthauer was named a third tam Ping All-American.
Both teams finished the season ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in school history.
