
Women's Golf Advances to NCAA Championship

Baton Rouge, La. - The University of Louisville women's golf team made school history after shooting a 295 in the final round of the NCAA East Regional held at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La. The Cards advanced to NCAA Championship held in Daytona Beach, Fla. at the LPGA International Golf Course May 22-25 after finishing eighth with a score of 870. The Cardinals make their first NCAA Championship appearance for the first time since the program was started in 2000. The top eight teams from all three regions advanced to the championship.
Duke, the top-ranked team in the nation came from behind and shot 16 under par on the final day to take the top spot with a score of 844. After leading the first two days, UCLA finished second with a score of 846 and Wake Forest finished third with a score of 855.
Sophomore Cindy LaCrosse finished the championship at eight under par with a score of 208. LaCrosse finished the tournament tied at fifth. Sydnee Michaels of UCLA was able to maintain her lead to finish at the top with a score of 203.
Senior Adrienne White finished the championship at six under par with a score of 210 to finish seventh. Sophomore Amanda Henry fought through back pain all day long to finish with a score of 78. She finished the tournament tied at 74th with a score of 227.
Junior Jenny Calkins finished tied at 81st with a score of 228. Freshman Camille Williams tied her collegiate low round with a 75 on the final day. Williams finished tied at 90th with a score of 230.
