
Men's Soccers Adds Three For 2007

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville head coach Ken Lolla announced three players that were added to the 2007 University of Louisville men's soccer team. Aaron Clapham and Gerardo Chavez have transferred to the University of Louisville while Jordan Kadlec graduated high school early and is currently enrolled at the university.
Clapham, a midfielder from Christchurch, New Zealand, played two seasons at Saint Francis University. Clapham started 19 games for the Red Flash and led the team in scoring with five goals and two assists as a sophomore last season. He also started 15 games as a freshman and tallied three goals and three assists. He also played for the New Zealand U20 national team.
"Aaron is a great addition as he is a proven player at a high level," said Lolla. "He has grown tremendously as a player in the past two years which is evident of his recent call up to the U20 New Zealand National Team. He is a person of great character and tremendous work ethic. Aaron's experience and leadership abilities will certainly benefit our young team."
Chavez, a forward from Moreno Valley, Calif., transferred from Lindenwood University where he started every game as a freshman. Chavez led the team in scoring with nine goals his freshman season. He played for the prestigious Pateadores soccer club in California with Cardinal freshman Othaniel Yanez.
"Gerardo will have an immediate impact on the Cardinal attack," Lolla said. "He has great speed and ability to break opponents down off the dribble. He is exciting to watch and will certainly create many opportunities on goal."
Kadlec, a goalkeeper from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, played with the Iowa ODP team for six seasons. He earned Region II ODP honors from for three straight years (2003-2006). Kadlec also travelled with the regional team to Italy.
"Jordan is a gifted goalkeeper with great potential," said Lolla. "He is athletic with a very good work ethic. Jordan graduated high school early to enter Louisville in the spring and has already benefitted from the extra semester in college. We expect him to push for the starting position immediately."
