
Griffin Bailey Signs Free Agent Contract

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville senior pitcher Griffin Bailey had signed a free agent contract to play professional baseball in the Houston Astros organization.
The Lexington Catholic High School graduate has been assigned to the Greeneville Astros of the Appalachian League (Rookie).
Bailey wrapped up his stay with the Cards ranked second in career appearances, getting the call 96 times, one off of the school record. He established a new single-season record with 33 outings in 2006.
Bailey tallied five saves in 2006, tying him for 10th, while his seven during his career place him tied for seventh.
He enjoyed his best season as a junior, going 4-1 with a 2.59 ERA and two saves. He compiled a 12-8 record with a 4.46 ERA, striking out 124 in 183.2 IP during his four seasons as a Cardinal.
Bailey joins fellow Cardinals Sean Green, Adam Haley, Mark Jurich, Zach Jackson and J.T. LaFountain in professional baseball.
