The University of Louisville women's tennis program moved to No. 50 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Poll, the best ranking in school history for the 13-3 Cardinals.
"We are extremely pleased with our new ranking," said Greg Davis, U of L head coach. "We have shown a tremendous amount of improvement in the last two weeks. Our ranking shows that this week."
U of L is one of four BIG EAST teams ranked in the ITA's Top 75 with Notre Dame at No. 2, DePaul at 54 and South Florida at 61.
The Cardinals face a tough stretch of schedule with three road trips on tap. U of L will travel to Illinois (3/10), Auburn (3/16) and Indiana (3/19).
"The next three matches will be a true test for us," said Davis. "They will tell us a lot about our progress. I am proud and the girls are tremendously excited about this landmark."
