
James Belanger Signs With Baseball Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Right-handed pitcher James Belanger has signed to play baseball for the University of Louisville. He will join the team in January and will be eligible to compete in the spring.
The native of North Babylon, New York has spent the last two seasons with the Cecil Community College Seahawks, where he was 17-4 with an ERA of 2.90 and struck out 108. The Seahawks advanced to the Regional Semifinal and was ranked as high as #3 in the nation.
He was a member of the 2005 NABF National Champion Bayside Yankees.
In his final season at North Babylon HS he was 6-1 on the hill while batting .391.
Louisville returns 16 letterwinners and seven starters from a team that finished third in their first season in the BIG EAST, and advanced to the title game of the BIG EAST Championships last season.
Dan McDonnell, who is in his first season as head coach of the Cardinals, took over the team on June 27 as the 18th head coach in U of L baseball history.
The spring season will open in mid-February at Jim Patterson Stadium.
