
Louisville Baseball Signs Three More

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Owensboro Catholic pitcher Neil Holland and outfielder Stewart Ijames joined Blinn Community College outfielder and first baseman Tyler Mikits in signing national letters of intent to play for the University of Louisville baseball team it was announced by Head Coach Dan McDonnell Friday.
The three signees join outfielder Drew Haynes, infielder Grason Wiggins and pitchers Dean Kiekhefer and Thomas Royse as part of the 2006-07 early signing period. They will be on campus this fall and eligible to compete in the spring of 2008.
Neil Holland

A two-time All-Region and All-District selection, Holland played for the East vs. West junior All-Star team least season. He has a 25-5 record on the hill with 17 saves and 205 strikeouts in three seasons. The Aces won the All A State Championship in 2005 and he was named to the All-Tournament team. Were state runner-up last season. Has hit 30 doubles, five triples and driven in 51 runs, adding 31 steals. An honorable mention All-State receiver, lettering four times in football and twice in swimming. He has earned five letters in baseball heading into his senior season. A three-time academic All-State selection.
Stewart Ijames

Owensboro,Ky./Owensboro Catholic
A two-time All-State, three time All-Region and All-Area selection, he was the state tournament MVP when the Aces won the 2006 state championship. Has 24 home runs and 141 RBI in three seasons of HS baseball, hitting .504 with 11 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs, 47 runs scored and 60 RBI his sophomore campaign. Has earned five letters in baseball, four in football as a kicker and running back and lettered once in basketball.
Tyler Mikits

Bourne,Texas/Blinn JC
A First Team All-Region selection at Blinn CC as a freshman, hitting .341 with 13 doubles, eight home runs, 36 RBI and a .992 fielding percentage. A three-time All-State selection at Gregory-Portland HS, the lefty hit .463 with 18 doubles, five home runs 20 RBI and posted an 8-3 record, 1.93 ERA and 111 strikeouts on the hill. Named First Team All-State tight end on the Texas 4A football team in 2004.
