The University of Louisville women's tennis team gave their coach, Greg Davis, his 200th win with a 4-0 victory over Arkansas State Saturday morning.
"I am blessed with the opportunity to coach good players, which makes my job much easier," said Davis. "My 200th win is a very special accomplishment that I owe to my current and past players. I hope there are many more wins ahead of us."
The Cardinals only played singles and suspended play after the requisite fourth point was scored. At No. 1 singles, Maria Klokotzky beat Marina Engelbrecht 6-1, 6-1 with Robyn White handling Paula Chelminska 6-2, 6-2. Bianca Gorbea beat Zeljka Minic 6-2, 6-2 and at No. 4, Suzanna Gracanin beat Karen Saravia 6-0, 6-0.
"This was our best singles effort of the season," said Davis. "Our intensity was the best it has been all year. What I liked was that we were able to dominate early and put the match away quickly, something that is the trademark of a good team."
