Cardinals Head to Bloomington for Hoosier Classic

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team will travel to the University of Indiana to compete in the Hoosier Classic. Match play will be from Friday, Oct. 3 - Sun Oct. 5.

Louisville is one of seven teams competing alongside host Indiana, Bellarmine, Butler, CSU, NIU, and Purdue.

Louisville Roster Notes
Senior Alice Otis returns for her second season with the Cardinals. Last season, Otis recorded a 10-9 record including two ranked wins against #30 N.C. State (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) and No. 108 Syracuse (7-5, 6-4). Her performance resulted in her reaching the ITA rankings in early March at No. 115 and peaking at No. 111 in the April 15th ITA rankings. She also led the team with 13 individual doubles wins.

The Cardinals also have a new face in senior Rebekkah Gaines who brings experience from Florida A&M and New Mexico. In her two seasons at FAMU, she had a combined record of 17-1 in singles and doubles in conference play, leading the team to the 2023 SWAC Tournament championship and a berth in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. She was named First Team All-SWAC at No. 1 singles in both 2023 and 2024 and was a member of the 2023 and 2024 All-SWAC Tournament Team.
