
Cardinals Advance in ACC Tournament With 4-2 Win Over FSU

Louisville meets Cal on Thursday at 10 a.m. ET
CARY, N.C. -- The No. 63-ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team upset No. 57 Florida State 4-2 by taking the doubles points and singles courts two three and six at the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference at Cary Tennis Park.

In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Allie Gretkowski and Alice Otis upset the No. 39-ranked pair of Eva Shaw and Maria Parra Romera 6-4 to set up the doubles win. At No. 3 doubles, Louisville's Elena Noguero and Elisabeth Iila beat Maelie Monfils and Laura Putz 6-3 to clinch the point.

Florida State pushed back right away, scoring the first point in singles when No 114-ranked Eva Shaw downed Alice Otis 6-1, 6-3 to tie the match score at 1-1. UofL's Elena Noguero answered with a win at No 3 beating MB Deatherage 6-1, 6-4. Louisville's Lika Peresypkina scored the third point for the Cards when she handled Millie Bissett 6-1, 6-3. But the Seminoles were not done as Laura Putz beat Cardinal Germany Davis 6-3, 6-3. Cardinal freshman Elisabeth Iila clinched the match at court 6 with a comeback win of 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.  At No. 4, Allie Gretkowski was battling back after dropping her second set and was up 3-1 when play was suspended after the clinch.

The Cardinals advance to play No. 5 seeded California on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. on Bank 1. UofL did not face the Bears in the regular season in Cal's first year as an ACC member.  Cal has posted 12-7  overall record and is 9-3 in the ACC. The Bears are ranked No. 18 in the nation.
