
Baseball Signees Tabbed in Draft

LOUISVILLE, KY - University of Louisville baseball signees Chris Dominguez, ranked by Baseball America as the top high school third baseman in the nation, and Alec Lowrey, an outfielder from Pace High School in Miami have been drafted in the annual Major League Baseball June draft.
Dominguez, who hails from Gulliver Prep in Miami, was tabbed by the Texas Rangers in the 17th round and Lowrey was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 5th pick in the 46th round.
Dominguez was ranked as the #11 high school player in the country by Baseball America has also been named to the 2005 All-American Baseball Game presented by PlayStation.
The senior from Gulliver Prep High School in Miami joins the ranks of the country's top 36 high school baseball players competing in the national All-American Baseball Game on Monday, June 13, 2005 at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Net at 9:00 p.m. (EST).
Both players have the option of signing a contract to play professional ball, but should they choose not to they will retain their college eligibility, and can honor their letter of intent by enrolling at U of L this fall.
The Cards return eight starters from last season's 32-24 team.
