The University of Louisville volleyball team is on a trip to Italy where they are competing and touring. Assistant coach Chad Norton filed this brief update so that Cardinal fans could keep up with the team.
"So far the trip has been amazing. We are currently on Day 7 of our Italy excursion. We are in the republic of San Marino, which is the oldest republic in the world. Our hotel is on top of a mountain overlooking the rest of the republic. It is truly breathtaking. We are currently 2-1 on our trip, having lost out first match last night to Eurosped Ancona, a B1 team who next year will move up to A2. We lost in five. It was a great match against a great team. We also have beaten Nice Cassano (3-2), another team in B1 but moving up to A2, in front about 2000 people. The other team that we played was a B1 team in Cologno. We beat them in three games.
We have toured Milan, Como, Venice, Ancona, and San Marino. Each city is beautiful. The food has been outstanding, we eat pasta, pizza, and some kind of meat everyday. Sending more pictures as they become available."
