
Scott Barber Named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week

LOUISVILLE, KY- Scott Barber, a senior pitcher for the University of Louisville has been named Conference USA Baseball Pitcher of the Week, for the week of March 3-9.
Barber, who is now 3-0 with a 0.82 ERA, picked up a win over 19th ranked Tennessee in Knoxville on March 5th, to salvage a split in the two-game set.
In Wednesday's game Barber tossed 7.0 innings, scattering six hits, walking none and striking out three while allowing just a single unearned run.
In 22.0 innings, Barber has allowed just four runs, two of which are earned on 15 hits and only two walks. He has struck out a team-high 22, and opponents are hitting just .181 off of the righty from Monticello, Indiana.
In a win against Butler on February 28th, Barber fanned 13 in eight innings. His first start of the season was a seven inning complete game win over Northern Illinois.
The last Cardinal pitcher to win C-USA Pitcher of the Week honors was Mike Tisdale on February 25, 2002.
Barber and the Cardinals will next host Western Kentucky Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Cardinal Stadium, before opening C-USA play with a three-game series at Memphis beginning Friday.
