
Bojorquez Named C-USA Baseball Hitter of the Week

LOUISVILLE, KY- Louisville Cardinal first baseman Morgan Bojorquez has been named Conference USA Hitter of the Week.
Bojorquez, a junior from Westminister Christian High School in Miami, was 9 for 23 in five games with three home runs, two walks and 10 RBI. He also had 18 total bases and a .783 slugging percentage.
During the three game series at Tulane, in which the Cardinals took two of three games, Bojorquez homered in each of the games driving in 10 runs in the series. Friday's home run was a tape-measure shot high over the scoreboard in left field at Turchin Stadium.
Bojorquez had three multi-hit games and scored a run in each of the five games during the week, crossing the plate six times.
During one four at-bat stretch he was 4 for 4 with two home runs and seven RBI.
On the season, Bojorquez is hitting .333 as one of only two players to start all 44 games for U of L. He has eight doubles, 12 home runs and a team-high 51 RBI.
Earlier this season, Cardinal pitcher Mike Tisdale was named C-USA Pitcher of the Week and right fielder Mark Jurich and infielder J.T. LaFountain earned the conference hitting honor.
Louisville (31-13, 16-8) is half a game out of first place in Conference USA and will host UAB(14-33, 6-18) for a three-game weekend series at Cardinal Stadium. Admission is free and audio broadcasts of the games are available on line at www.uoflsports.com.
