The University of Louisville shot a 312 in the final round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Sunday afternoon to finish 17th with a score of 949. The second-ranked Duke squad fired a 290 in the third round for an 870 final score to win the team title for the third time in the five-year history of the Bryan National.
Taking runner-up honors was 13th-ranked Georgia at 882, while close behind in third was fifth-ranked Ohio State at 885. Seventh-ranked Oklahoma State took fourth at 894, and Furman moved up five spots to place fifth at 898 after carding the low round of the day at 287. Tournament co-hosts 17th-ranked Wake Forest placed sixth at 901, while UNC Greensboro finished 16th at 942. ACC foes North Carolina moved up to seventh at 908 and NC State took eighth at 909.
Junior Cindy Pasechnik shot a 78 for a score of 233 and finished tied at 56th. Sophomore Morgan Hapney shot a team low 75 to finish tied for 62nd with a score of 236. Redshirt freshman Meghan Little finished tied at 72nd with a score of 239.
Viranda Nirapathpongporn of second-ranked Duke birded the second hole of a sudden death playoff to take individual medalist honors and help the Blue Devils to their second straight Bryan National Collegiate title in women's college golf action this afternoon from Browns Summit, NC.
The Cardinals will be in action again on April 19-21 at the Conference USA Championships in Hattiesburg, Miss.
