South Florida third baseman Myron Leslie's three-run home run in the eighth inning proved to be the difference in the Bulls 5-2 win over Louisville in Conference USA baseball action Friday night.
Louisville(23-21, 7-9) first baseman Mike Budak doubled home third baseman J.T. LaFountain, who had singled with one out, to put the Cards up 1-0 in the first.
The Bulls(21-21, 10-6) loaded the bases with one out in the fourth, and DH Rick Stegbauer singled home two runs to give them a 2-1 lead. In the eighth, Leslie's home run to right center gave them a 5-1 advantage.
Budak lead off the Cardinal eighth with his sixth home run of the season, a blast to right on a 2-2 pitch to seal the final score at 5-2.
Cardinal starter Mike Tisdale (6-5) took the loss, throwing 7.1 innings, and giving up five runs-four earned on eight hits and a walk. He struck out three.
