Women's Tennis Signs Two For 1999-2000

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Melisa San Martin, of Tampa Fla. and Kelly Kiehna of Johnson City Tenn. have signed national letters-of-intent to play tennis for the University of Louisville next season.
San Martin is ranked 17th in the state of Florida, and in the top 50 in the nation. She is a member of the Junior Wightman Cup Team and has played in the prestigious Orange Bowl, Copper Bowl and Fiesta Bowl Tournaments. "Melisa is a powerful 5'10 all-court player," said Louisville head coach Meg Peavy. "She has a big serve and a big forehand, and is very athletic."
Kiehna is ranked in the top 100 junior players in the U.S. and is No. 25 in the Southern Region. She was also a member of the Junior Wightman Cup Team and the Zonal Team. "Kelly is a very precise player," said Peavy. "She's consistent and has a well-constructed game."
"We're very excited about these talented players, they are a great addition to our veteran team."
