Marquette Defeats Men's Soccer 2-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Marquette University defeated the University of Louisville 2-1 today in men's soccer at Cardinal Field. Marquette improves to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in Conference USA, while Louisville drops to 3-4-2 overall and 1-2 in C-USA.
Marquette jumped out to a lead in the first minute with a goal from Marshall Morehead at 1:30 in the first half. Louisville's Justin Prather answered back finding the back corner of the net from an assist by Shawn Faria at the 14:06 mark of the first half.
Marquette's Marshall Morehead scored the winning goal at 57:32 in the second half. Louisville had several opportunities to score but could not convert.
The Cardinals will continue conference play as they travel to UNC Charlotte on Sept. 29.
