CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Cardinals rallied with three unanswered goals to defeat UNC Charlotte 3-1 last night. It was the first Cardinal victory over the 49ers since the series began.
The 49ers scored first with just over 20 minutes in the first half with a shot from Stephen Miller. Just three minutes later the Cardinals answered when Goran Yabar headed a corner kick from Stuart Langrish into the net.
UofL took the lead for good when George Zabaneh scored on a breakaway at the 37:00 mark. Freshman Greg Campbell scored the Cardinals' final goal off an assist from Randy Strobo.
Goalkeeper Jeremy Morales recorded seven saves to prevent the 49ers from scoring again. Louisville improved to 4-4-1 on the season while UNC Charlotte fell to 3-4.
