Bio
2023: Using her Covid year, Aiko started for her fifth straight year of eligibility. She earned AVCA All-East Region honors and was All-ACC Second Team. She played in 112 sets and had 249 kills and hit .260. She had 15 assists and 27 aces. She had a total of 147 digs and 86 blocks. She had a season-high 13 kills against Florida State. She had a season high four assists at North Carolina. She had a season-high three aces at Missouri, versus Miami. She had two aces against eight other opponents. She had a season-high seven blocks versus South Dakota and six at Pitt in the NCAA Regional Final. At Clemson she had 18 points with 15 kills, two aces and two blocks. She joined the 1,000 Kill Club and ended her career with 1344 to rank No. 10 in the Cardinals’ record book. She amassed 155 aces and 482 total blocks which are both ranked No. 6 all-time for Louisville.
2022:Â Aiko was named to the Final Four All-Tournament team, the All-Louisville Regional team, the AVCA First-Team All-East Region team, and the All-ACC First Team. Aiko played in all 119 sets, developing into an offensive force from the right side and the backrow. She notched 300 kills, hitting .268. The team leader in aces with 44, Aiko was a defensive threat with 108 total blocks to score 401.0 points for the Cardinals. The team captain had a season-high 20 kill performance against Wake Forest. Her season-high in aces came in the five-set battle against Pitt on Oct. 23rd. She recorded a season-best eight blocks against Stanford. Not only did she garner 13 double-digit kill performances, but she was also extremely efficient, hitting over .500 five different times: (.545 vs. Northern Kentucky 6-0-11), (.542 vs. San Diego 15-2-24), (.579 vs. Syracuse 13-2-19), (.583 vs. Pitt 8-1-12), (.588 vs. Samford 11-1-17).Â

2020: Aiko (pronounced EYE-koh) was named First Team All-ACC and was an ACC Player of the Week. She was named to the AVCA All-East Region’s first team. She played in all 61 sets and started in all 18 matches. She led the team with 168 kills, hitting .237. She had three assists and leads the Cards in aces with 18. She had 65 digs and 64 blocks. Her best match came against Syracuse when she had 17 kills. She had three aces each against Miami, Pitt and NC State. She had seven blocks at Boston College. Against San Diego, she had five kills, six digs and three blocks. In the Sweet Sixteen match with Washington, she had 10 kills, two aces, three digs and five blocks. An outstanding student, Aiko was named to the Dean's List (Fall 2018, Spring 2019) and was a Red and Black Scholar (Fall 2018, Fall 2019, Fall 2020).
2019: Aiko Jones had a breakout season in her first year, earning First Team All-ACC, AVCA All-East Region, AVCA HM All-American honors as well as being named to the NCAA Texas All-Regional Team. In the regular season, she was named to the All-LUV and All-Cardinal Classic teams. She started every set of every match and led the team in kills, and attacks while hitting .258 for the season from the right side. She was third on the team with 27 aces and third in digs with 151 and second in blocks with 97. She had a season-high 23 points when she was unstoppable against the No. 2 ranked Longhorns of Texas with 23 which tallied up to .375 hitting (23-5-48) to lead UofL to its first Elite Eight appearance. She had two double-doubles: a 18 kill, 10 dig performance at Syracuse and 10 kill, 10 dig output at Pitt. She had 21 matches with double-digit kills. She had 20 kills at Miami and at Western Kentucky to lead the Cardinals to the Sweet Sixteen. She had 19 kills at Virginia Tech, and 18 at Boston and Syracuse. In all, she was responsible for 460 of the Cardinals’ points. As strong in the classroom as she is on the court, Aiko is a member of the ACC Honor Roll, was named to the ACC All-Academic Team and is a Red and Black Scholar.

Prep: Aiko Jones, a 6-2 right side hitter from Kingston, Jamaica is a member of the Jamaica National Senior Team. She played as a starting setter/right side in the Caribbean Volleyball Championships in July of 2017 in Jamaica. She played as a starting right side hitter and setter in the third round of the World Championships Qualifier in the Dominican Republic. Her high school is the Wolmer's School, where she is coached by O'Neil Ebanks. Wolmer's has won 23 national titles in the last 27 years and she has served as captain for the last three. She was the National MVP in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018 as well as being named the National Best Server in 2017. Strong at the net, she was Jamaica's National Best Attacker in 2015 and 2016 and the National Best Blocker in 2014 and 2015. She was the National Best Attacker in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 as well as being the National Best Blocker in 2014 and 2015. In addition she was named National Best Defender in 2018. She earned the 2016 Rising Star Award for the University of the West Indies Mona Volleyball Club with Coach O'Neil Ebanks and Ricardo Chong.
