Sophomore: Nathan competed at the BIG EAST Championships as a non-scorer in the 100-back, 100-fly, and 100-free. He set a personal best of 49.54 in the 100-fly and a season best in the 100-free with a time of 45.48. Nathan also competed at the Ohio State Winter Invitation before BIG EAST where he set a season best in the 100-back with a time of 49.31. In dual meet action, he led off the 200-medley relay that completed the 1-2 sweep against UK with a split of 23.80. Nathan also recorded fifth and sixth place finishes individually in the double dual with Cincinnati and Eastern Michigan.

Freshman: Kinney swam exhibition at the BIG EAST Championship, turning in times of 50.15 (100-fly), 50.19 (100-back) and 47.03 (100-free). One of his strongest performances during the dual meet season was against Cincinnati. He took first place in the 100-back with a time of 52.96, and in the 100-free, he took third with a mark of 48.53.

Prep: Nathan comes to UofL from Fishers, Indiana where he swam at Hamilton Southeastern High School for Andy Pederson. He was part of the IHSAA State Swim Meet champions at Hamilton Southeast in 2007. He won the 100-free IHSAA State Swim Meet in 2009 and 2010 with times of 45.12 and 45.55 respectively. He also won the IHSAA State Swim Meet 100 back in 2009 with a time of 49.81. He was a 13 time All-American and team captain his junior and senior year.

Personal: He is the son of Jeffery and Nannette Kinney. He was born June 4, 1991.Major is finance.
