Bio
Junior: In his junior campaign, Nate continued to add depth in the grueling distance freestyle races for the Cardinals. Nate recorded his best time of 16:21.50 in the 1650 free at the Louisville Invitational. He also dropped his season best time of 4:34.90 in the 500 free at the Louisville Invitational. He added depth for the Cardinals when he finished fifth in the 500 free against Cincinnati and seventh in 1000 free with his season best time of 9:54.22 against UNC.
Sophomore: Nate swims the grueling distance races for the Cardinals, including the 500-, 1000-, and 1650-freestyle events. He improved in each event throughout the season, bringing much needed depth along the way. His best times during the season came against Kentucky in the 500-free, where he went 4:39.56. Nate dropped his 1000-free to a season-best 9:49.78 versus Notre Dame, and a top time in the mile of 16:32.55 came at the Michigan Invite.
Freshman: As a freshman, Bond proved to be a versatile swimmer placing 4th at the Xavier dual meet in the 1000-freestyle. Bond competed at the Purdue invite in the distance freestyle, and the butterfly events. He swam the 500-freestyle in 4:42.13, 1650-freestyle in 16:21.98. Bond also swam the 100-butterfly in 53.21, and the 200-butterfly in 1:55.26 for a 15th place finish just off his prelim time of 1:54.75. Bond competed in the summer at the Charlotte UltraSwim where he swam the 100-butterfly in 1:03.74, the 200 butterfly in 2:14.45, the 400 freestyle in 4:20.00, and the 200-IM in 2:17.95. Bond was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Prep: Nate is a native Louisvillian, who swam for Mike Deboor as a Lakeside Seahawk. He will swim the 500-free and 200-fly. A long course Junior National Qualifier, he was also a three-time Scholastic All-American.
Personal: Son of Priscilla and Jarrell Bond. Born March 16, 1994. Major is Exercise Science.
