Sophomore: Alarcon continued to add valuable butterfly depth to the Cardinals’ lineup during his second year in The Ville. At the ACC Championships, he finished 26th in the 200 butterfly (1:47.30) and 35th in the 100 butterfly (47.76). Alarcon posted six top-8 finishes throughout the abbreviated dual meet season, highlighted by a victory in the 200 butterfly against Cincinnati. He also placed fourth in the 200 butterfly and fifth in the 100 butterfly versus Kentucky while taking seventh in those events as well as in the 200 individual medley against Notre Dame.
Freshman: Alarcon had a stellar first season with the Cardinals, winning the 100 butterfly (47.99) at the UofL First Chance Invitational. At the Purdue Invitational, he finished eighth in the 100 butterfly (48.95), ninth in the 200 backstroke (1:46.66), and 11th in the 200 butterfly (1:49.10). Alarcon registered 15 top-8 finishes throughout the dual meet season, highlighted by a runner-up showing in the 200 backstroke (1:53.81) against Xavier. For his performances in both the pool and in the classroom, Alarcon was awarded ACC Honor Roll honors.
Prep: Alarcón comes to Louisville from Georgetown, Texas, where he was a team captain and record holder for Georgetown High School. During his senior year, he earned a pair of gold medals in the 100 back and 100 fly at the Texas 5A State Championships, setting a league record in the latter to guide his team to the state title for the first time in school history. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honoree owns a pair of team records for Nitro Swimming, a nationally-recognized club team coached by Elliott McGill and Floria Rudolph. He made multiple Junior National final appearances, most recently finishing 12th in the 100m fly at the Junior National Championships in Stanford, Calif. He holds best times of 47.81 in the 100 fly, 48.67 in the 100 back and 1:46.17 in the 200 back.
