Senior: As a senior, Long added depth in both the middle distance freestyle and IM events for the Cards. At the Louisville First Chance Meet, she recorded a season-best time of 23.55 with a third place finish in the 50 free. She also added season-bests at the IU Invitational, racing to times of 50.78 in the 100 free, 1:51.85 in the 200 free and 2:02.83 in the 200 IM.
Junior: Long provided depth for the Cardinals in the middle-distance events. She was a member of the ACC Championships team, swimming the 200 IM (2:01.02), 200 free (1:49.18) and 100 free (50.23). At the Winter National Championships, she competed in the finals of the 100 free, placing 16th in a time of 50.05. At the TYR Pro Swim Series in Columbus, Long swam the 100-meter free (58.19), 50-meter free (26.38), 200-meter free (2:08.09) and 200-meter IM (2:24.29). Throughout the dual meet season, Long provided the Cardinals with valuable performances on both the freestyle and medley relays. Long also excelled in the classroom, earning Honorable Mention CSCAA Scholar All-America honors.
Sophomore: Long continued her upward trajectory in her second season as a Cardinal, winning all three of her events at the Ohio State Winter Invitational. At the meet, she swam to season-best times in the 100 free (49.35), 200 free (1:47.75), and 200 IM (1:59.70). She competed in the 100-meter free (57.49), 200-meter free (2:06.21), 200-meter IM (2:23.51), and finished 19th in the 50 free (26.40) at the Atlanta Arena Pro Swim Series. Long also qualified for World Championship Trials in Indy, swimming the 200-meter IM (2:23.04) and the 50-meter free (26.27). Highlights from the dual meet season include a fifth place finish in the 200 IM and a seventh place finish in the 100 free at the UofL Invitational.
Freshman: Long showed a lot of potential after her first year of racing for the Cardinals. In the dual meet season, she swam sprint freestyle with highlights including a 23.78 in the 50 free at the UofL Invitational. In the 100 free, highlights included a third place finish versus Cincinnati (52.70) and she put up a 51.89 at the UofL Invitational. In the 200 free, she was fourth versus Cincinnati (1:54.71),
Prep: Gracie Long comes to Louisville from Columbus, Ohio where she attended Upper Arlington High School and swam for UA Swim Club, both for Coach Dan Peterkoski. She is a 15-time All-American and was the Ohio state runner-up in the 100 free in 2013 and 2014. Her team won state championships in 2012 and 2015. She was the state champion in 2015 in the 200 free and 100 free in 2012. Long also played water polo for Upper Arlington and is coming off of a state title in 2011, 2012, 2014. She has excelled in the classroom as well having been on the honor roll all four years of high school. Her best times are 23.1 in the 50-free, 49.93 in the 100-free and 1:48.67 in the 200-freestyle.
