University of Louisville head softball coach Sandy Pearsall has announced that former Cardinals standout Brittany Duncan will be a volunteer assistant on her staff for the 2016-17 season.

Duncan, who completed her senior season in 2015, spent two years at Louisville while playing at designated player or first base. She transferred to Louisville from Valparaiso in 2014 and made an immediate impact, leading the team with 41 RBIs and finishing second on the team with 10 home runs. She also set a school record with 48 walks on the season and stands 10th on the school's career list for walks.

The 2014 American Athletic Conference All-Tournament selection opened the 2015 season with a home run, but suffered an injury in the second week of the season.
She joined the Cardinals after two seasons at Valparaiso where she was the 2012 Horizon Newcomer of the Year and a NFCA All-Midwest Region selection along while earning all-Horizon League honors twice. Â

Duncan earned her Bachelor’s degree in physical education from the University of Louisville in May, 2016. Upon graduation from Louisville, Duncan was named to the USA Baseball Women’s National Trials Roster and attended the trials in June, 2016.
