Steve Hoelscher serves as an Associate Athletic Trainer at U of L, where he has been working since 2002 with multiple sports, including baseball (2002), men's soccer (2002-present), men's tennis (2002-present), women's lacrosse (2009), and women's tennis (2009-2011). During his time in Louisville, Steve has worked with Big East and ACC Championship teams from the men's soccer and men's tennis programs.
Hoelscher received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri in Nutritional Sciences in 2001. While attending MU, he participated in the Athletic Training internship program working with football, men's basketball, women's gymnastics, and wrestling.
After graduation, Hoelscher received his National Athletic Trainer’s Association certification in 2002 and attended the University of Louisville where he received his Master's Degree in Sport Administration in 2004.
Hoelscher has done internships with the St. Louis Rams (2001) and St. Louis Cardinals (2003) as well as working events such as ESPN's "Streetball" and WWE's "Smackdown" shows. He also received a United States patent for glove technology supporting against finger, thumb, and wrist hyperextension.
Hoelscher maintains his certification with the National Athletic Trainers' Association and is licensed in the state of Kentucky. He also has certifications in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (SASTM), Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Postural Restoration, Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), and Total Motion Release (TMR).
He resides in Louisville with his wife Christy and daughter Hadlee.
