
Hristov Set to Join Cardinals in the Fall

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's tennis head coach Rodrigo da Silva announces that Maksim Hristov will be joining the team for the 2026-27 season.
"We are so excited to add a guy like Maksim [Hristov] to the team," said UofL head coach Rodrigo da Silva. "He is our energy guy who is super hungry to work. We can't wait to start working with him next fall and take his tennis to new levels."
The Arlington Heights, Ill. native is an active junior competitor with an overall strong resume in USTA and national junior events with an approximate record of 51-22.
According to Tennis Recruiting Network, Hristov is a five-star recruit and is ranked first in the state of Illinois and No. 78 nationally.
He has competed in USTA Boys' 18 tournaments, including USTA National Level 2 and National Indoor Championships events. His most notable win was an intense 7-6(2) 7-6(8) victory over Niko Klyachkinn who was ranked as one of the top 100 juniors in the nation.
