Admission to Saturday’s intrasquad scrimmage will be free on a first come, first served basis.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville volleyball team will play their annual intrasquad Red & Black Scrimmage at L&N Federal Credit Union Arena on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

Admission to the match is free on a first come, first served basis. Doors to the arena are set to open an hour before first serve at 12:00 p.m.

The Cardinals enter Dan Meske's second season at the helm of the program ranked No. 7 in the AVCA/Taraflex Preseason Poll after a 2025 season that saw the Cards post a 26-7 overall record (16-4 ACC) and advance to their seventh consecutive regional semifinal in the NCAA Tournament.

Louisville returns 11 letterwinners from a season ago, including six regular starters from the 2025 squad. Kalyssa Blackshear, Nayelis Cabello, Chloe Chicoine, and Payton Petersen were all named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, while Cabello and Chicoine were also included on the AVCA Division I Player of the Year Preseason Watch List.

In addition to the returning talent, Louisville welcomes six newcomers to the roster, headlined by senior middle blocker Brooke Bultema, who joins the Cardinals after three seasons at Kentucky. The Cards also boast a well-rounded freshman class made up of middle blocker/opposite Amirra Bailey, outside hitter Jordyn Gray, libero/defensive specialist Elsi Karjanlahti, setter Blair Thiebaud, and middle blocker Elli Strecker.

Following the Red & Black Scrimmage, the Cardinals are set to open their season next weekend against a pair of top-10 opponents at the Jeep AVCA First Serve in Milwaukee, Wis. Louisville will square off against No. 8 Texas A&M, the defending national champions, on Aug. 21 before matching up with No. 6 Wisconsin on Aug. 22.
