Track & Field Concludes Jim Green Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams concluded their second and final day of action at the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday.
Ty McPhail picked up the lone event victory of the afternoon for the Cards, finishing in a tie for first in the men's pole vault after clearing a final bar of 5.21m (17-1).
Kaia Tupu-South finished as the runner-up in the women's shot put with a toss of 17.35m (56-11.25) that came on her final attempt of the competition, the third time she has eclipsed the 17-meter mark during the outdoor campaign.
The Cardinals took two of the top three spots in the women's 5000m, with Heidi Meade clocking a personal-best time of 16:49.25 to finish second and Haley Meade crossing the line in 16:49.38 to place third.
In the women's 4x400m relay, the quartet of Breanna Braham, McKenzie Bell, Zylah Sturdivant, and Jalasia Lewis finished second with a season-best time of 3:40.30 that stands as the third-fastest time in program history.
The Cards closed out the day with a season-best in the men's 4x400m relay, as Terence Jackson, Ryan Farrell, Ethan Brouw, and Brendan Ruggles combined for a time of 3:13.34 to place third.
The Cardinals will close out their final weekend of the regular season tomorrow evening at the Duke Twilight in Durham, N.C. The Cards will be represented in both the women's and men's 5000m, with action set to begin at 9:40 p.m. ET.
