Thomis Posts Top-Five Finish at the Calusa Cup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore Warren Thomis of the University of Louisville men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Calusa Cup at the Calusa Pines Golf Club.
The Cardinals closed the regular season with a fifth-place finish, closing the tournament with an even-par 283-292-289=864. Florida won the tournament at 22-under-par, while Virginia was second at 18-under-par. Purdue was in third place and USF closed in fourth place. The Cardinals open postseason play on April 23-27 in Watersound, Fla., at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.
Thomis posted the top score for the Cards at 7-under-par, carding scores of 70-69-70=209 for the second top-five finish this season. He moved into the top four with his final round of 70 on Tuesday morning.
Cooper Claycomb finished at 1-under-par with scores of 72-73-71=215 to end the tournament in a tie for 16th place. Andrew Tan closed his tournament action in 19th place at 2-over-par with his rounds of 70-75-73=218. Easton Johnson was in 25th place at 5-over-par with scores of 71-75-75=221.
Brady Smith finished in 30th place at 8-over par with his tallies of 72-77-75=224.
