Louisville Completes Day 1 at NCAA Zone C Diving Championships

The Cards advanced two men and two women to finals competition
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving teams advanced four divers to finals on day one of the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships on Monday evening at Eastern Michigan's Michael H. Jones Natatorium in Ypsilanti, Mich.
For the Cardinal women, Samm Helmboldt qualified 11th on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 271.90 to advance to finals, where she earned 13th overall with a combined prelims and finals score of 533.05. Maud Van Kempen qualified 14th with a 262.65 to move on and followed with a 14th place combined score of 528.30 in finals. Audree Brazeau-Howes rounded out the UofL women in 31st place with a prelims score of 229.85.
On the men's side, Ray Preas qualified 10th in the 3-meter diving prelims with a 340.10 to clinch a finals spot, where he finished 13th overall with a combined prelims and finals score of 665.70. Mack Molloy qualified eighth with a 343.65 in prelims, then took 16th with a combined score of 657.80 in finals. Rayce Winn placed 23rd with a prelims score of 312.65.
Action continues Tuesday, Mar. 10, with women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter diving prelims at 1 p.m. ET, followed by finals competition at 4 p.m. ET.
