Cardinals Ranked 16th in Perfect Game Preseason Rankings

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team will open the 2026 season ranked, as the Cardinals came in at No. 16 in the Perfect Game preseason top 25.
Louisville was one of eight ACC teams in the rankings joining No. 2 Georgia Tech, No. 9 Florida State, No. 14 Virginia, No. 18 North Carolina, No. 20 Clemson, No. 22 NC State and No. 24 Miami.
The Cardinals are set to play 14 games against teams in the top 25, including weekend series against Virginia, North Carolina, Clemson and Miami.
Dan McDonnell enters his 20th season in 2026. The Cardinals were 42-24 last season, reaching the College World Series for the sixth time in program history.
Louisville will open the 2026 season on Feb. 13 with the first of a three-game series against Michigan State at Jim Patterson Stadium.
