Davis on Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore Tague Davis was named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List released on Thursday by USA Baseball.
Davis was one of 45 players on the watch list for award recognizing the best amateur baseball player in the country.
The first baseman is having a standout sophomore campaign. Through 29 games, Davis is hitting .398 with eight doubles, 17 home runs, 57 RBIs and 40 runs scored.
Davis leads the country in RBIs entering this weekend's series at Duke. He is also second nationally in home runs, third in total bases and ninth in hits, leading the ACC in all four categories. Davis also ranks fourth in the country in slugging percentage and 12th in runs.
The sophomore has homered in 16 of Louisville's 29 games this season and has driven in at least one run in 23 contests.
Brendan McKay won the Golden Spikes Award in 2017 and Corey Ray was a finalist in 2016.
