Cards No. 8 in D1Baseball Preseason Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team was in the No. 8 spot in the D1Baseball preseason poll released on Monday.
The No. 8 ranking is the highest preseason mark since the Cardinals opened up the 2023 season as high as fifth in the polls.
The Cards were the second highest of eight ranked ACC teams, behind only Georgia Tech at No. 5. No. 11 North Carolina, No. 16 Florida State, No. 17 NC State, No. 19 Clemson, No. 21 Wake Forest and No. 22 Miami joined the Cardinals in the poll.
Louisville is slated for 16 games against teams in the D1Baseball rankings.
Dan McDonnell begins his 20th season in 2026 after leading the Cardinals to a 42-24 overall record and the program's sixth College World Series appearance last year.
Louisville will open the 2026 season on Feb. 13 with the first of a three-game series against Michigan State at Jim Patterson Stadium.
