
Cross Country Ready to Open Season at Southern Showcase

The men’s 8K will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET on Friday morning with the women’s 5K to follow at 9:30 a.m. ET.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville cross country teams are set to begin the 2025 campaign on Friday, September 12 at the Southern Showcase.
The meet will be staged at John Hunt Cross Country Running Park in Huntsville, Ala.,one of the premier cross country courses in the South that will host both the Conference USA Championships and NCAA South Regional later this fall.
The men's 8K will begin the morning's action at 8:30 a.m. ET with the women's 5K to follow at 9:30 a.m. ET. Live results for the meet can be found here.
Tomorrow will mark the second consecutive season the Cards have opened their season at the Southern Showcase. Last September, the Louisville women finished as the team runner-up, while the men finished sixth in the team standings.
The Cardinals will field 12 men and 14 women on Friday morning as one of 54 teams that will be represented on the line in Huntsville, including a trio of ACC teams in Florida State, Georgia Tech and Miami.
Along with a large group of returners from a year ago, the Cardinals add seven newcomers to the 2025 roster with four transfers and three freshmen joining the fold, six of which are slated to make their Louisville debut tomorrow.
