
Cards Set to Host Louisville Invitational

Louisville will host three-day tournament to begin fall slate
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team is set to open their fall campaign by hosting the Louisville Invitational for the second year in a row.Â
The tournament will run Sept. 12 through Sept. 14 and each day will begin at 9 am ET. Â It will feature singles and doubles matches and be played on both indoor and outdoor courts at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center with weather permitting.Â

Four of the nine teams competing finished the 2025 season ranked in the ITA team poll: Tennessee (15), Kentucky (29), Illinois (33) and Louisville (64).Â
The Cards have one pair in the preseason doubles rankings composed of Hamza El Amine and Walid Ahouda who were placed at No. 51. Â
Kentucky and Illinois are the only teams that place players in both the preseason singles and doubles polls. The Wildcats lead the way with four singles and three doubles ranked while the Illini spot the No. 2 duo. Tennessee has three singles players in the poll, but no doubles.
Returning players for UofL are highlighted by Senior Andre' Steinbach and juniors El Amine and Russell Lokko. The Cards are primarily built of new faces with four total transfers including Ahouda, Pedro Cressoni, Louis Chusseau and Matei Onofrei.Â
