
Cresse and Chicoine Named to USA U23 Team For Pan Am Cup

 LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Louisville middle blocker Cara Cresse and outside hitter Chloe Chicoine were named by USA Volleyball as two of the 18 athletes who will train with the 2025 Women's U23 National Team for the NORCECA U23 Pan American Cup, July 25-August 2 in Leon, Mexico.Â

Both players come to Team USA with international experience. Cara Cresse was on the 2024 Women's National Team that played in the Pan Am Cup Final Six and won silver. Chicoine was on the 2023 Women's U21 National Team that played in the Pan Am Cup  where she helped the USA to win gold, winning MVP and Best Outside Hitter honors. In 2022, she won on the Women's U21 National Team that won gold at the Pan Am Cup and earned her Best Spiker honors. She was also on the 2021 Girls U18 National Team at the U18 World Championship where she won bronze.Â
The selected athletes will gather for a training block at the National Team Training Center in Anaheim, Calif., from July 18-25. From this pool, 12 athletes will be chosen to represent the United States in Mexico. Â
DePaul University women's head coach Marie Zidek will lead the team, assisted by five-time Olympian Danielle Scott (LOVB) and Olympian Kayla Banwarth (PVF).Â
