LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Three University of Louisville track & field athletes are set to contest the discus throw this weekend at the Oklahoma Throws Series, one of the premier throws meets in the nation.
The competition will take place at Millican Field in Ramona, Okla. as part of the Series, which covers the duration of the outdoor season and attracts some of the top throwers in the nation to what has been dubbed "Throw Town."
Noah Koch, Jayden Ulrich and Jade Whitfield will all compete on Thursday afternoon in the ninth Throw Series meet of the season with the men's discus throw slated for 12:30 p.m. ET and the women's discus throw scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.
Ulrich will then compete in the women's discus throw once again on Saturday, April 12 as part of the Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational, which holds a bronze level distinction on the World Athletics Continental Tour.
Earlier this season at the USF Alumni Invitational, Ulrich shattered her own program record in the discus with an NCAA-leading mark of 66.14m (217-0) that ranks the senior fifth in collegiate history and eighth in American history.
Additionally, Whitfield boasts a season-best mark of 58.80m (192-11) that also came in her season opener at the USF Alumni Invitational, the eighth-best mark in the NCAA thus far this season.
